How Do You Tend To Your Garden?

Sometimes we find ourselves caught in someone else’s world struggling to figure out why we are not succeeding.  Why things don’t come easy to us like they seem to do with others, why the fruits of their labor are obvious while ours seem to be nonexistent.  Have you ever thought maybe you were tending someone else’s garden?  A garden that might not have plants, flowers, and veggies that suit you.  Sometimes our gardens/paths become overgrown with others expectations and beliefs of what we should or should not be.  The question is… are we doing what makes us happy?  And if the answer is no, how do you imagine that you will be good at it?

If this sounds like you take a moment to step back ~make a list of the things that make you happy, things you are good at.  Be creative and explore ways you could make these things work for you.  If you can’t possibly think of any way it could work, then take another step back and first put some trust in who you are.  Believe that you are here for a purpose.  Then look at that list again, maybe sit on it for a bit opening yourself to possibilities.  If you have followed me for awhile you know several of my ideas came from the suggestions of other people.   Talk to the people around you that love you, talk about what you love, ask for suggestions.  Sometimes that is just what you need to get the wheels rolling.  And then when you allow yourself to be open to change, its amazing what you can discover.

So take some time to look at your own garden.  Visualize what you love; what you are good at, as a plant in your garden. This plant is unique to you and is open to your imagination.  Remember that in order for plants to grow and blossom they need attention, love, food, and nourishment.  Start tending to your plant by doing what it is that you love, what makes you happy.   Start to clear away the weeds that aren’t working for you and tend to what does.

Remember we can’t all be on the same path.  Nurture and respect what you are here for.  Quit worrying yourself with what you might not be good at.  Look at your talents, look at what you enjoy, nurture and love those things.  When you do your path will clear and your light will shine the way.
