Wedding Season is Here ~ is Yoga on Your To Do List?

Spring is finally here! Warmer weather, flip flops, flowers blooming and weddings happening all over Charleston. Yes, wedding season has officially begun. Charleston’s natural beauty, history and romance create the perfect scene for the bride’s most special day. The choices of location are limitless: beautiful downtowns, Magnolia Plantations, Charles Towne Landing, any of our beautiful beaches (just to name a few) provide the perfect backdrop to unite with your special someone and celebrate with all those you love.

When planning your wedding you get to express yourself creatively, explore your dreams and celebrate the love you share with your partner. But even in the most laid back, low key weddings you will find some challenges. Attempting to keep everyone happy while trying to honor yourself and your fiancé’ can sometimes create imbalance and stress among you and family members. Trying to stay organized and making sure everyone is doing their part down to the last detail can make you feel like you are spinning Tasmanian Devil style. This is when it’s most important to remember to take time out for you. To let go of all of the planning, preparing, mediating to bring balance back into your life. Take walks, get a massage/pedicure, read a non wedding book. Consider incorporating yoga and meditation into your routine to benefit body, mind and soul. Both practices help to put things into perspective, allowing you to release the stress, frustration and worry that weigh heavy on you. It helps you to let go of the things you have no control over, and reconnect with your balance. It gives you permission to allow stillness, quiet and calm into the body and mind. Yes, you do have deadlines that need to be met, but you also have you to take care of you. Bringing balance back into your mind/body will open the floodgates of creativity, celebration and love. You are so worth it!
