Finding Balance in an Unbalanced State
So, let’s talk about all this conflicting energy in the air. Yes, there is a reason; there is always a reason. During this time of the year, we are out of sync with the earth’s natural cycle. Think about universal balance in terms of Yin and Yang. This time of year is meant for slowing down, conserving energy…hibernating in a sense.
A time for Yin energy. But instead, we find ourselves in this frantic state of shopping, decorating, and traveling, all very high-energy tasks, Yang energy. We are supposed to celebrate, feel happy and rejoice this time of the year, but we are not. Many of us are feeling the stress and strain of the busy energy.
We feel uncomfortable, anxious, and depressed, often leading to illness. Naturally, we have less energy in the winter. We are meant to restore, relax, and tend to ourselves, yet this constant Yang energy is knocking us down.
Make the Intent This Year to Instill Balance in This Busy Time
Make time and space to breathe, ground, and relax.
Practice restorative yoga, take walks, and do exercises that help guard your energy.
Cook spicy yang foods, adding things like ginger, cloves, black pepper, basil, and ginger to help replenish energy. Drink warm drinks.
Create rituals that pull you back into the natural rhythm of life.

Be good to yourself this month. Nurture, love, be kind and remember when it just gets to be too much, ground and breathe and maybe take a hot bath For information about Serenity Tree Yoga, wedding yoga, private yoga sessions, small group sessions or reiki, please contact Melora at Serenity Tree Yoga
